After arriving to Oregon, check in to your room at McMinnville's most awarded hotel, The Atticus. Summarized perfectly by Condé Naste as "the sweet spot between everyday comforts and unique elegance." From this central location, you'll be able to walk to tasting rooms, restaurants & art galleries on McMinnville's historic 3rd Street. Each room at the Atticus Hotel is a direct reflection of the vibrant community surrounding it, featuring local artists, craftsmen and designers.
Once you've settled in, please join us at Pinch for a fresh, sophisticated and playful welcome dinner. We've booked the entire restaurant so you can take your time exploring the locally curated plates, alongside small production wines we've brought in directly from Italy. We trust this will be a perfect way to start your time with us as we begin the journey through Oregon's famous wine region.
Today is dedicated to exploring the beautiful Yamhill - Carlton AVA. We'll start with a field tasting at Elk Cove Vineyards, a winery with over 50 years of history in the region. This will give you the unique opportunity to taste their terroir driven wines, while walking through the vineyards that produced them. We've asked owner and winemaker, Adam Campbell, to join our group for a portion of the visit so you can hear stories directly from the family and understand the legacy they are building in the Willamette Valley. We'll conclude the experience with a light lunch, catered by Biscuits & Pickles,
After lunch, we'll move down the road to the picturesque Résonance property. A project of Maison Louis Jadot, Résonance crafts acclaimed Pinot Noir and Chardonnay. Your time at the estate will begin with a barrel tasting alongside renowned winemaker Guillaume Large. Afterwards, we'll put your tasting skills to the test with a blind tasting of French, Italian and Oregon wines. Leading you through the blind tasting will be Guillaume, along with Marco Molesini from Cortona, Tuscany. Upon returning to McMinnville, dinner will be on your own but we'll be sure to make recommendations for some of our favorites!
Allow us to whisk you away to Fairsing Vineyard, where the views and the wines will leave you in awe. Planted high in Oregon’s Coast Range foothills, the wines coming from this site showcase the distinctive terroir of the region. Owners Mike & Mary Ann McNally will be available to answer questions and to give you their personal story behind this unique estate. After a casual tasting, we'll have a pizza truck on site so you can grab lunch, a glass (or two), and settle in while appreciating the panoramic vistas around you.
Upon returning to McMinnville, savor some down time before walking over to join us at HiFi Wine Bar. We've set up a private aperitivo tasting, in which old world and new world wines will be compared and appreciated. The new world selections will be represented by Martin Woods, an artisanal winery hidden in the oak-forested woods of the Oregon coastline within the McMinnville AVA. After the tasting, we recommend sticking around for an additional glass and a bite, all while enjoying entertainment from a local DJ who will be keeping the atmosphere lively while the wines are flowing!
The first part of today is yours for exploring as you see fit. We're offering several optional add-ons, including a private cooking class, a one of a kind wine tasting at venerated Beaux Frères winery, or a small group tasting seminar with Marco Molesini. As the sun begins to set, we'll reconvene at Cypress for a festive farewell dinner. The meal will be hosted by two local winemakers who look forward to showcasing their bottles, alongside a few of our favorite Italian labels. We may even have a surprise guest in attendance, directly from his winery in Tuscany...
Today you leave us but we hope your travels continue to another beautiful part of Oregon.
